Day Camp Coordinator

Charlottesville VA

Living Earth School

Get back to your roots and learn the philosophy of living close to nature, wilderness survival, and connecting to the earth. Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains near Charlottesville, Virginia, Living Earth School offers award winning day camps and expeditions for ages 7-18 years old.

Despite the difficulties of the times, we successfully ran camps in 2020 as well as year-round programming. We feel we have found a rhythm with our COVID policies which allow the kids to still be kids, outside & together.

LES is seeking a second Coordinator for 2021. We immerse ourselves in nature through building shelters, getting muddy, making fires, preparing wild plants for food, tracking animals, and understanding the language of birds.

The summer camp season runs June 14th through August 21th, with a week of training and potential for a week off mid-season. As it currently stands, there is a small apartment for a Coordinator to live on-site, sharing an outdoor covered kitchen for staff who also live on-site (if you do not have your own housing).

HOW TO APPLY

If you have experience working outside, managing a team of people, mentoring others, are least 21 years of age, outgoing, fun, positive, responsible, a team player, open communicator, and passionate in connecting kids to nature, go to LivingEarthVA.com/employment to apply or connect with Kelly Lecko.
