Analyst - Renewable Energy

Our team seeks to add an intellectually curious Analyst / Senior Analyst who takes a proactive approach to problem solving. (Job title will be based on experience.) We currently expect them to reopen later in 2021, contingent on guidance from CDC and local health authorities stating it is safe to do so.


Analyst / Senior Analyst Job Description

The Analyst will:

• model the financial / business case for distributed energy resource (DER) solutions particularly in commercial, industrial, and institutional applications

• rely on energy interval data to visualize system operations, model economic performance using utility tariff structures, and reveal energy cost saving strategies,

• maintain a current understanding of emerging trends in energy markets and improvements in commercial technologies, in order to recommend the most cost-effective and advanced configuration of DER solutions

• write reports for existing clients, initially under the supervision of a more experienced team member, with the goal of quickly progressing to leading client projects

• write proposals to secure new clients, initially under the supervision of a more experienced team member, with the goal of quickly progressing to leading proposals


Desired Hard Skills

• Graduate degree in related field (engineering, environmental, etc.), or 2+ years of related job experience

• Familiarity with distributed energy technologies, including geothermal, combined heat & power, fuel cells, and/or energy storage

• Strong MS Excel skills

• Superior written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey technical ideas and information to a non-expert audience

• Experience preparing winning responses to proposals (RFPs)

• Energy modeling experience (experience with eQuest or other building energy software highly desirable)

• Financial modeling experience a plus Desired Soft Skills

• Proactive approach to problem solving

• Comfortable in client-facing situations

• Ability to work in small teams within a fast-paced environment
