Marketing Communications ManagerSan Diego, CA (or Remote)
As the Marketing and Communications Manager, you will support the director of marketing and communications in implementing strategies that raise the organization’s visibility and market our experience designing and managing large-scale clean energy and transportation programs to public and private sector decision-makers. You will play a key role in promoting CSE's brand, mission and expertise by managing the development of thought leadership content and marketing collateral and promoting CSE through earned and owned channels (website, email newsletter, events and social media).
Overseeing a Drupal-based website and email marketing will be your primary responsibilities, so experience with an email marketing automation platform and metrics capture and reporting is a must. You’ll support these channels with social media posts as well as media research and outreach. You will collaborate closely with your marketing team colleagues, including the Creative Services team, as well as with Business Development and energy and transportation program experts in a fast-paced environment.
Essential functions and responsibilities · Manage corporate website (Drupal): create and upload content, oversee content updates, draft and implement strategies to grow traffic, track and report on key metrics, collaborate with Platform Development team to resolve issues and implement enhancements · Draft and disseminate email newsletters and content-based email marketing campaigns using marketing automation software; create, test and optimize emails and newsletters based on performance metrics · Assist in drafting compelling content and collateral, including ads, brochures, case studies, fact sheets, newsletters, PowerPoint presentations and website content, ensuring consistency with CSE brand and style · Assist in tracking and managing the thought leadership content development process · Manage corporate webinar creation and promotion · Oversee social media strategy (currently LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook): manage the content calendar, draft or edit posts, monitor and grow engagement, report on metrics, and suggest adjustments based on research · Provide event support: conduct research and outreach for conference sponsorships and speaking opportunities, negotiate contracts, assist speakers with content, and handle exhibition logistics · Assist in public relations as needed: research media outlets and reporters and draft statements, talking points and press releases
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Experience managing a website (preferably Drupal): creating and posting new content, growing traffic and supervising updates · Experience developing and executing digital communications and marketing plans · Experience with an email marketing platform (preferably Marketo) and familiarity with email regulations and best practices · Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) · Knowledge of Google suite of tools (Analytics, Data Studio, Tag Manager, Ads) and SEO and keyword strategies · Professional social media experience (Linkedln, Twitter, Facebook) · Clear, crisp writer with knowledge of AP style · Ability to collaborate with graphic designers, thought leaders, and partners on print and web content, presentations, and events · Proactive, organized, responsive and flexible team player with a can-do spirit
Preferred: · Experience in environment, energy, transportation, technology or software sectors a plus · Experience with project management (Teamwork), marketing automation (such as Marketo or HubSpot), social media management (Hootsuite) software, and webinar platforms
Education and Experience: · Bachelor's degree in marketing, advertising, public relations, communications, journalism or related field · 3-7 years of experience in communications, public relations, media or marketing
