About Center for Food Safety (CFS): CFS is a national nonprofit organization that empowers people, supports farmers, and protects the earth from the adverse impacts of industrial farming and food production, and promotes organic and sustainable food systems. CFS uses legal actions, policy initiatives, scientific and policy reports, and corporate and grassroots campaigns to reduce the impacts of industrial agriculture on the environment and human health. CFS works on an integrated suite of issue areas, including genetically modified organisms, pesticides, organic foods, climate change, factory farming, pollinators, food labeling, food safety, and more.
Position Overview: CFS has an immediate need for a highly qualified Executive Assistant in its Washington, DC office. The Executive Assistant provides administrative support to the Executive Director, and assists with other projects including but not limited to those listed below.
• Maintain Executive Director calendar and assist with scheduling meetings with colleagues, funders, etc.
• Assist with correspondence, research, and writing projects
• Assist in scheduling speaking engagements and travel
• Provide other administrative support as needed
• Other activities and projects as directed
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum of three years of administrative experience in an office setting. Strong organizational and writing skills a must. Commitment to and enthusiasm for food issues and CFS’s mission a plus. B.A. or B.S. degree required.
